2019 Career Connections Conference

Come learn about WORKS - a program built through ongoing business partnerships that direct a K-12 Career Advising and soft skill education program. This initiative connects several state mandates into one meaningful program that prepares students for LIFE. Learn how to connect with businesses, programming ideas, curriculum modifications, and how to include all district staff in one unified career driven vision.

Come learn about this innovative model for fostering relationships between teachers and the community. See how you can place educators with businesses and nonprofits and hear about the benefits that those teachers will take back to their classrooms. Presenting will be Beth Bronkar, coordinator of the "STEP" teacher externship program in Licking County, as well as Steven Yeager, a teacher from Heath HS who has participated in the program several times.

This interactive presentation will allow participants to learn how one community leveraged community partnerships to provide opportunities for students. Come learn how to create systems, both within the school and within the community that keep student success as a priority, thus enabling students to envision their own success.
